Dhania Albani is an anagram and artsy alter ego of Nabilah Adani, a 30-year-old Indonesian born and bred. Currently works as a full-time geologist, but writing was one of her earliest hobbies, and the longest-lasting too.

Here, she shares her travels, musings on mostly mindfulness and mental health, daily life in Indonesia and beyond, hobbies, or humans around her.

A bit more about her here.

The picturesque landscape of the Isle of Skye was The picturesque landscape of the Isle of Skye was already more than what I asked for, but on top of that, to be on a 3-day tour where nearly all of the participants were travellers around my age (including a few other solo ones!) was definitely the highlight of this experience. 10/10.

Perhaps the thing I appreciated the most about thi Perhaps the thing I appreciated the most about this travel season was my giving permission towards myself to be fully immersed in the present and now without all the residual worries of having to tend other responsibilities.

The clock kept ticking and the world was always heading somewhere, but I'd happily pause to smell the coconut-scented gorses up in these hills, record as many snippets of this quaint city with my naked eyes from hundreds of feet above the sea, or chat about life and uncertainties with people who helped me build a temporary nest in their own safe spaces among all the unknown and foreign.

After a very long while, life felt slow and every second felt precious again. Something as mundane as leaning on the ground, fingers caressing the green, eyes appreciating the wide blue, could finally feel like it's the greatest thing one could ever do again and at that moment, I didn't need nor seek anything more than any of that.

Thinking about the capital city where all sorts of Thinking about the capital city where all sorts of fortuitous encounters happened. And it matters not only whom I saw or met, but also whom I shared the experience with.

It's funny how I struggle every time someone asks, "So what's your favourite bits?" Because every single one of those truly felt like they were brought to me not by chance and was meant to be my truth and reality at some point.

Every conversation, face, place, rendezvous, dialogue, song, escapade - all was then fated to be imprinted in my not-so-distant memory, probably never to be forgotten.
